Kaitlin (Kate) Reilly - Bergen County, New Jersey, USA.
Assembled between end of June 2008 and February 2009. (Total time spent = 253 hours and 45 minutes)
Hi! My name is Kate, I am 15 years old and live in Bergen County, New Jersey.
I have been doing jigsaw puzzles for the last 5 years. I am able to look at a piece
and know exactly where it goes. It got to the point where I could finish a 1,000
piece puzzle in a few hours. That's when I knew it was time to do something harder.
I saw the World's Largest Jigsaw Puzzle on one of the websites I buy jigsaw puzzles
from, and I thought that would be a fun challenge. When I got the puzzle I noticed
it was divided into the four quadrants. I said to myself, if I was going to do the
Worlds Largest Puzzle, I am mixing the pieces. I mixed all the pieces together.
I started the puzzle at the end of June. It was supposed to be a "summer project"
but I finished in February 2009. In all, the puzzle took me 253 hours and 45
minutes. I worked on the puzzle all by myself, and my family DID NOT help one bit.
I am happy and sad. I am happy that I finished the World Largest Jigsaw Puzzle, but
I'm really sad that it is over. It was such a fun and colorful puzzle that I never
got bored.
Now I am looking for my next challenge...maybe 18,000?
