  • FIRST TO COMPLETE IN ONTARIO.
  • THIRD IN CANADA.
16th of January, 2009
Christoph Donaldson  -   Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
Assembled between April 1st, 2008 and January 16th, 2009.

FIRST TO COMPLETE IN ONTARIO, CANADA.
Fitting the last piece.

I started the puzzle on April 1st of 2008, and completed on Jan 16th, 2009.
It was an individual effort. I live in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. I'm 26 yrs old.

Sorting the puzzle is difficult (of course) but when it comes down to it, everything goes together pretty easily. The toughest parts for me were the underwater city (OMG!) and the seagulls on section 3 were extremely time consuming. It took between 6-7 hours to sort each bag, and then an average of 150 hours to have each bag assembled. I completed this beast in the kitchen of my apartment on a workhorse that I assembled to suit its size. Each section being built on top of the last on a sheet of plywood.

FIRST TO COMPLETE IN ONTARIO, CANADA The puzzle is definitely an eye catcher, and most people that see it just don't believe its size or the fact that I had the patience to put it together!

I had so many people come over just to see it and many facebook friends gave me super good compliments when I finally finished it. The best way to define it is "shock and awe" when it is seen for the first time by anyone.

Puzzles to me are very relaxing, and regardless of how big or detailed, I am never in a rush to get it done. It's great memory work and teaches you patience. But yes, there were a few times that this "LIFE" challenge did get the better of me. FIRST TO COMPLETE IN ONTARIO, CANADAYou can stare at it soooo long that your eyes start to cross and the colors make no sense at all any more. So I'd end up walking away, which apparently is one of the hardest things to do when working on a puzzle!

I look forward to the next great "LIFE" challenge, if another one ever comes out.

It was a great experience and I thoroughly enjoyed this endeavour!
